How do I make my computer run faster without spending money?
So my computer is getting a little slow lately. I play an mmorpg and it's slower than usual. I make sure no other programs are running and I defragment about once a week. I also have an external hard drive that I keep all pictures and videos on to save space. Is there anything else I can do to make it run faster without spending money?

Go to http://www.pc-optimizer-pro-downloads.com
With pc optimizer pro you can safely clean, repair and optimize your computer.
It will help improve your system performance.
If someone were to invent a way to make a computer faster without spending money, they would be famous!
If you already defragged there is not really much else you can do other than make sure you dont have excessive processes running that dont need to be.
delete any unwanted/unused files. that should free up a lot of space. especially mp3 files or movies.
nothing can really speed up your computer to play a game. the only thing you can really do is go into the options menu in your game and set the graphics and effect to the lowest setting. I've played many mmo's and the graphic quality doesn't bother me at all.
since you have things set away in your external, do a clean reinstall of your OS
its nice to do after a while, picks it up
Clean install of your os is always nice, but not always possible…
go for that first.
in any other case increase you virtual memory

clean up your temporary files folders.
download dr. web cureit and see if that finds anything.
Look at what services are running. These are programs that run in the background and wait for things to happen. Many are necessary for the things you want your computer to do, but others are definitely optional. Services take up RAM and CPU just like any other program. On XP, go to control panel / administrative tools / services to see what's going on. Before you turn anything off, do some due diligence to make sure your not turning off something critical. Research any service you're considering disabling before you do it.
You can use a registry cleaner to clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some registry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".
Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!
There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.

You can download and scan your computer for free.
Try piriform software you need to download and run CCleaner to get rid of other junk on your hardrive and run the registry cleaner as well. Then remove some stuff from your start up which will help your computer start faster. Which defragmenter are you using? If its the windows one you should try getting the piriform defragger as well.
To make your computer run faster, you need to do a few things.
1. First, download ccleaner {free}. This will remove all the old useless stuff stored on your computer.
2. Make sure your computer is clean of viruses and spyware. I recommend webroot spysweep for spyware, and webroot anti-virus/avast for virus protection, but for free you can get AVG free and ad-aware. These are very good too. You can also try "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware". If you have any of these run things run them.
3. Remove unnecessary startup programs. Go to start—Then RUN—and type "MSCONFIG. Go to the STARTUP tab and uncheck programs like games, etc from starting when your computer starts, Just DONT UNCHECK YOUR ANTI-VIRUS & SPYWARE!! This really helps.
4. Defrag your hard drive with the free auslogics disk defrag. It takes around 10-15 mintues but it will reduce the siaze of your hard drive, making it faster, resultinbg in better computer performance & stability.
This should help. If you have any problems is doing this, you can email me at kennjame62@gmail.com
